WhatsApp - Latest update has great feature, but it's only available to download for iPhone now
The WhatsApp update that went live this week brings with it a new way that users will interact with the popular chat app.
WhatsApp version 2.17.81 became available to download from the Apple App Store on Tuesday.
The update makes it easier for users to record voice messages - instead of holding record, you can just swipe up to lock the recording into place.
So users looking to record voice messages no longer have to hold down the red record button for the duration of the message.
But the big change is how YouTube videos are now displayed in WhatsApp.
When you receive a YouTube link now you can just play the video within the Facebook-owned chat app.
Thanks to picture-in-picture, you don’t need to jump between two different apps to watch a YouTube clip you’ve been sent.
The YouTube clip sent on WhatsApp will appear within a small floating window on your screen, so you can watch videos and message friends at the same time.
